Tom explained that accuracy and precision are key to our detailed approach. This way of working produces luxurious kitchens of the highest quality.
At the drawing stage, accuracy, precision and attention to detail are at the front of the technical team’s minds as they piece together every aspect of the joinery. Through taking a holistic approach to our technical designs, nothing gets missed. Everything from where the sockets are placed to the positioning of the plumbing is considered. The layers within these drawings reveal groups of details which are sent to stakeholders for review.
Technical designers form a close relationship to the craftsmanship that occurs in the workshop. This comes in the form of understanding of how things are made and how a vast range of materials can be worked with. They develop an understanding of the necessity to have accurate and well drawn technical drawings in order for details to be made to the highest quality. Between the technical design team, the factory, external trades and stakeholders, there is constant dialogue ensuring the design can be manufactured, shipped and installed effectively. Tom says, this collaboration is an exciting and interesting part of the technical process.
Installation is a satisfying experience for our technical designers, who have had oversight of every single detail of the kitchen. The technical team visit the site to see the kitchen come together and provide insights to the fitters who are installing the joinery. At the start of a technical designer’s journey, we believe it’s important they visit the site to get a real-world understanding of what they are creating.
