The room’s rich palette sets a warm, contemplative tone from the start. Red-stained panelling creates an intimate cocoon, softened by bronze-glass doors that invite light while preserving privacy. Dark timber and brass accents echo the adjacent bar, unifying the design.
At the heart of the room, curved shelving lines the walls, elegantly engineered to cradle bottles at a gentle angle. This not only preserves the wine but allows each label to be displayed with pride – an open invitation to browse, pause, and appreciate. The shelves are supported by vertical brass tracks and adjustable brackets, mirroring the detailing found in the bar opposite and reinforcing a sense of design continuity throughout the home.
A central marble alcove anchors the room, acting as a focal point and ‘hero zone’ for large-format or particularly treasured bottles. It’s here that the refined finishes truly shine – the stone’s veining catching the ambient light, its surface cool and smooth to the touch. This niche offers a moment of pause and admiration, a stage for the most prized pieces in a collector’s repertoire.
Below, custom-designed drawers provide practical yet elegant storage for the essentials of wine service. Each drawer is lined and compartmentalised to house decanting tools, corkscrews, and bottle openers – everything a connoisseur might need, precisely where they need it. Low-level cabinetry offers further storage for wine cases, ensuring the room balances visual beauty with purposeful functionality.
