Blandford House

Our Blandford House project is an exemplary study in crafted contemporary style.

Against a backdrop of opulent classical architectural detail, we created a bespoke kitchen with a clean finish.

A layered natural material palette incorporates enticing textures and dynamic shading.

For the splashbacks at the sides of the space and the central kitchen island, we used two tones of leathered marble to emphasise a sense of depth and volume in the space. At our workshop, we hand-stained oak for the joinery to reach a rich treacle shade, and to compliment it we finished the brass with a soft brushed effect.

The space itself featured opulent classical cornicing, with which we needed to craft a relationship. While the joinery of the hob area meets the cornicing – offering a sense of permanence and intentionality – we chose to give the secondary elevation the look of having been placed. In doing so, we sought to create a sense of lightness to the installation and integration with the architectural features of the home.
